Who We Are
BiteBlob is made up of a diverse and global collective of individuals united by a shared vision: to make anonymous file sharing free, open, and accessible to everyone. Our team spans continents, cultures, and backgrounds, yet we are bound together by a common belief that knowledge should not be restricted by borders, paywalls, or privilege. We come from different walks of life, but we work side by side with a single purpose—to empower communities through transparent, unrestricted access to information and tools that promote understanding, innovation, and collaboration.
Why No Clouds
BiteBlob deliberately avoids using cloud-based architectures to keep operating costs low and, more importantly, to ensure that control over access and information remains with the users—not with corporations. By steering clear of third-party cloud platforms, we eliminate unnecessary expenses and reduce the risk of data being stored, analyzed, or monetized by external entities. Our approach prioritizes local processing and user-side control, reinforcing our belief that individuals—not tech giants—should own their data, manage their privacy, and decide how their tools are used. By rolling-our-own solution, we reduced the cost of our service by over $25,000 per month.
Purpose Driven Existential Existence
BiteBlob is Purpose Driven Existential Existence—a movement grounded in the belief that information is a fundamental human right, not a commodity. Our purpose is born from the conviction that knowledge should flow freely across borders, cultures, and systems, unhindered by cost, censorship, or corporate control. We exist not just to build tools, but to challenge the status quo, empower individuals, and foster a world where access to information is universal, equitable, and unchained. This is more than a mission—it is the reason we exist.
Use Must Be Within Legal Bounds
While we strongly believe that information should be freely exchanged and accessible to all, we are equally committed to ensuring that our platform is used for lawful purposes. Our dedication to open access does not mean ignoring legal boundaries—instead, we operate with the understanding that true freedom of information must coexist with responsibility and respect for the rule of law. Users of our platform are expected to use the tools we provide in ways that comply with all applicable regulations, and we remain vigilant in upholding both our values and legal obligations.
Why BiteBlob Has An Internet Domain and Onion (TOR) Domains
BiteBlob maintains both a standard internet domain and .onion (TOR) domains to ensure that people around the world can access our platform, regardless of where they live or the restrictions they may face. In many regions, government censorship, surveillance, or internet blackouts limit access to open information and digital tools. By providing a presence on the TOR network, we offer a secure and anonymous gateway for users who might otherwise be silenced or blocked. This dual-access approach reflects our core commitment to digital freedom and privacy—giving everyone, everywhere, a trusted path to knowledge without fear of tracking, interference, or reprisal.
End To End Secure Communication
Users can trust that BiteBlob is built with end-to-end encryption at its core, ensuring that all communication and content remain secure from start to finish. From the moment data leaves a user’s browser to the moment it is received, it is fully encrypted and inaccessible except through our chosen mechanisms. This includes secure transfers, and protected interactions with our platform. Our team has carefully designed and implemented every component with user privacy and safety in mind.
Total Files Handled From January 2024 to June 2025
Since its creation, BiteBlob has proudly supported the handling of over 70 million files through our PublicDrop service, reflecting the trust and utility we've built within our global user community. In addition to this milestone, we’ve expanded to offer PrivateDrop capabilities, empowering users with even greater control and private exchanges between two entities. Another important addition is B.A.S.E. (BiteBlob AES Secure Encryptor), which provides users the ability to highly encrypt files directly within the user’s browser—without sending files to any service, unless they want to share content with others post encrpytion. This client-side approach reinforces our core commitment to security, privacy, and user ownership of their data.
Future Enhancements
While we are continually working to improve and expand the capabilities of our web service, we typically do not disclose specific details about upcoming enhancements until they are fully implemented and live on the domain. This approach allows us to focus on quality, security, and reliability without overpromising features still in development. We appreciate your trust and patience, and you can be confident that meaningful and user-focused improvements are on the way—each one designed to enhance your experience while staying true to our mission of open, secure, and accessible information.
Thank You For Supporting Our Mission
We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the users who have contributed to supporting our mission. Your generosity—whether large or small—is deeply appreciated and plays a vital role in keeping our platform running smoothly and securely. Every contribution goes directly toward maintaining and improving our services, ensuring we can continue to offer open, reliable, and privacy-focused tools to people around the world. Your support has helped provide the work we do, but also reinforces the shared belief that access to information should remain free and accessible to all. We hope that, in time, incoming support will fully cover the ongoing costs of the service—allowing it to operate independently and sustainably, thanks to the generosity of our supporters.
