General

Users may not upload files containing any illegal material via BiteBlob. Check your local laws before uploading any files. Any such files detected will be removed from access without notification. BiteBlob does not and cannot warrant against the possibility of active malware (e.g., viruses, trojans) or data corruption, but due diligence is applied to detect and remove access to malware and illegal material. BiteBlob is not responsible for the contents of any uploaded files. Please contact BiteBlob if you believe any given file is illegal, including cases of copyright misuse.

Denied Material

BiteBlob does not currently accept image and video content as these file types may be, or may be used to transport, illegal content. BiteBlob reserves the right to deny any file from being uploaded or stored. Repeated attempts to upload blocked content may lead to IP address suspension.

Ownership of Material

Uploading to BiteBlob constitutes a sharing of ownership rights to the file contents with BiteBlob and any party receiving the access link, whether provided to the other party directly or not. By using BiteBlob, users forgo any actual or perceived rights to restrict the transfer and legal use of their uploaded file data by any party who has the proper matching access link, whether provided to the other party directly or not.

Availability

BiteBlob does not and cannot guarantee full availability of the service and reserves the right to shut down the service for maintenance, pursuant to valid legal demand, or at our sole discretion is maintained. BiteBlob must not be used for critical business or personal purposes that require file confidentiality, integrity, or availability, and by using BiteBlob, users agree to indemnify and hold blameless any and all responsibility of BiteBlob for harm or loss of income due to server downtime, data loss from any cause, or any other reason, to the fullest extent of the law. BiteBlob reserves the right to take the service offline for one hour per day, based on administration tasks, updating code base, modernizing equipment, and performing checks on system performance. The time the system will be offline is 3:00 (AM) GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) to 4:00 (AM) GMT. Not all days will be impacted.

Anonymity

BiteBlob makes no attempt to identify specific users based on use of any cookies, through user's IP address, or through any other technical means, but IP addresses are logged by the webserver's log mechanism and used to block malicious accesses (e.g., DDoS) and to balance quality of service across users.

Administrative Actions

BiteBlob retains the right to remove or permanently ban file content found to be inappropriate, for purposes of maintaining the service (e.g., by removing old and/or unaccessed files when the services storage exceeds an operating threshold), or for any other reason, at our sole discretion. However, BiteBlob is intended as a "public square" for the anonymous sharing of files and intends to only exercise our discretion sparingly, to keep the service active, and for egregiously inappropriate but otherwise lawful content.

Changes

This user agreement is subject to change at any time. Please review this agreement before you decide to use the service. Use of the BiteBlob service, whether for uploading, information checks, or downloading, constitutes acceptance of and bounding to this agreement.

Donations

Donations are not required to use our platform, but they are appreciated. Biteblob utilizes donations to help upgrade equipment, purchase additional storage arrays, cover licensing costs, ISP fees, and help the overall longevity of the platform. As donations reach the appropriate levels, we will increase the storage capacity of the platform and this will allow files to be retained for longer periods of time. Donations are anonymous, and we thank everyone for their contributions!!

Access Limitations

There are limits of 100 file transfers (uploads and downloads combined) and 25 GB transferred per hour, to mitigate against Denial-of-Service attacks and to balance service usage. Page accesses are also limited for the same reasons but at a much higher limit. All limits may be changed at any time without notice. Repeated attempts to misuse the service may cause access to the site being blocked for 24 hours or more. Attempts to brute force file access using invalid links may result in up to permanent blocking.
